Our Roots
Records show that the Naviera family started its journey as Master Mariners and Owners of sailing vessels in the mid-20th century.
The family’s experience in shipping was acquired over several generations. Prior to the establishment of Naviera Shipping in 2005, we were the owners of companies such as Nea Tyhi Maritime in Piraeus, Fafalios Ltd. in London, Meandros Ship Stores Ltd. in Cardiff and Homeric Maritime in New York.
The experience gained throughout these years has been successfully incorporated into the present-day ship management services offered by Naviera Shipping Co.
2005 - Beginning of the Naviera family journey in shipping
2007 - The family buys its first steamship named “Vosporos”
2009 - Establishment of Meandros Ship Stores Ltd. in Cardiff
2010 - Establishment of Homeric Maritime Agencies Inc. in New York, U.S.
2011 - Establishment of Naviera Ltd. in London, UK
2015 - Establishment of Naviera Shipping SA in Piraeus, Greece
